SUNYFAP Conference Grant

The 2021 SUNYFAP Conference is virtual – this Conference grant is on hold until 2022.

To encourage involvement and promote future leadership in SUNYFAP, Inc. by offering financial assistance to active members who lack the necessary funding to attend the annual conference.

GUIDELINES

Purpose: To encourage involvement and promote future leadership in SUNYFAP by offering financial assistance to active SUNYFAP members who have not previously attended the annual SUNYFAP conference. The grant covers registration and included meals as well as hotel accommodations for the conference.

Objective: To encourage active organizational participation from newer members and stimulate conference involvement from the grant recipient. The grant recipient agrees to get involved and serve on a SUNYFAP committee for one year. The Scholarships & Awards Committee Chairs will verify the awardee’s involvement in SUNYFAP for the year following the award. The chair will report the outcome during the Executive Council meeting in March prior to the next annual conference.

Method: This application form will be made available to the active membership via email and online to all current members. Information that will be requested includes the potential commitment to SUNYFAP, to student financial aid programs in general, and a statement of commitment from the applicant’s institution.

Selection: Applications must be returned to the committee chair no later than March 21, 2020. The committee will review and rate each application independently, considering such areas as commitment and/or involvement in student financial aid programs and the prospect of future involvement in SUNYFAP. The committee chairs will compile the results and announce awards. The turnaround time will insure that the awardee will be notified before the conference registration or room reservation deadlines.
