Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 11, 2026
This page explains the cookies and similar browser storage used on sunyfap.org, the website of State University of New York Financial Aid Professionals, Inc. (SUNYFAP).
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website saves in your browser so it can recognize the browser later. Browsers can also save small notes for a site without a cookie, which this site uses to remember your banner choice.
What this site uses
Your banner choice
When you choose Accept or Decline on the cookie banner, that choice is saved in your browser so the banner does not appear on every page. It is stored only on your device and is not sent to us.
Google Analytics
If you choose Accept, Google Analytics sets cookies with names that begin with _ga. They let us count visits and see which pages are read. They last up to two years. If you choose Decline, or make no choice, these cookies are never set.
Security
The forms on this site use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors from automated traffic. Turnstile may set a short-lived cookie while it checks.
Signing in
SUNYFAP staff who sign in to manage the site receive WordPress sign-in cookies. Visitors who do not sign in never receive them.
Other websites
Links to Facebook, LinkedIn, X and PayPal take you to those websites, which set their own cookies under their own policies. Nothing is sent to them until you follow a link.
Changing your choice
To change your answer, clear this site's data in your browser settings and the banner will appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies for any site in your browser settings.
